Any one-color tile selection can be made
in any of the glaze colors below. (Any of the Underglaze colors can also be used
for one-color tiles - see Underglaze Color page.) Need a color
not seen here? Just ask - often I have it or can create it for
you. I also have many glaze colors not shown here - for
example, I have many different whites.
Want samples?
We're happy to send you as many as you like. The first five
are free; more are $1 each plus shipping. Samples are about
2.5" square. (Hex tile samples are $2 for 3 tiles of a single
color plus shipping cost - no free samples.)
Please note that colors are impossible to
show accurately on-line, or even when printed on paper. My
scanner, your monitor, everyone's printer, and all the mysteries of
the internet will make the color you see different from the original
tile. I will be happy to discuss sending you samples (or to
meet with you in person if you are in Florida).
These glaze colors will work on any size
flat tile, or the high-relief geometric tiles. Some but not
all will work with the low-relief tiles (some are too opaque and
thick and blanket the details in low-relief designs). Contact
me to find out if your selection will work.
All that said, note that the colors are
uneven, dappled, dimpled, textured, mottled, crackled and all sorts
of things you won't find in machine-made tiles from the home
center. Most colors are glossy, but not all. No two
tiles will be identical, although some glazes are more irregular
than others. Some glazes mimic the nature of stone or glass,
but all are visually engaging, singly or across entire walls.
Handmade tiles are truly unique.
Under each image is the color name and
color ID for reference. Feel free to contact me to find out
more about any glaze color or for suggestions based upon your
project or preferences.
